What is FLEXISEQ® Sport?

FLEXISEQ® Sport is a topically applied, non-drug gel for joint pain and stiffness arising from the damage that osteoarthritis, injury and physical exertion can cause. The product lubricates damaged surfaces within the joint and is clinically proven to be as effective at relieving osteoarthritic pain as a prescription painkiller (celecoxib 100mg, twice daily).

Optimally lubricated joints provide optimal joint function.

Meeting the standards of top, professional sport means producing a product that satisfies the highly sensitive dope-testing benchmark of "parts per billion" screening. While FLEXISEQ®, in its current format, meets the tough requirements of GMP, sport simply demands proven purity levels that are higher than even pharmaceutical grade manufacturing.

FLEXISEQ® Sport meets those higher standards.

FLEXISEQ® Sport meets the demands of today's athletes, teams and sports medical staff as the first medical device product to adopt an anti-doping batch screen, offering further assurance that the product is competition-compliant. Every batch of FLEXISEQ® Sport has been cleared for use in competition by a leading drug surveillance laboratory. There is extensive clinical data available from several randomised, double-blind clinical trials and FLEXISEQ® Sport is approved as a medical device for the treatent of all joints affected by all stages of OA.

How does FLEXISEQ® Sport work?

FLEXISEQ® Sport is a gel containing Sequessome™ vesicles, which are tiny phospholipid spheres. As the gel dries on the skin, these spheres change their shape and pass through the skin and underlying tissues, into the joint where they lubricate the cartilage surfaces to provide relief from pain and stiffness.

Who are suitable for FLEXISEQ® Sport?

Any athletes with pain associated with OA can use FLEXISEQ® Sport. Sports medical staff frequently report using FLEXISEQ® Sport on joint-compromised athletes in their care. FLEXISEQ® Sport is of particular interest to:

  • Athletes who are subject to rigorous anti-doping protocols. Every batch of FLEXISEQ® Sport has been screened and cleared for substances that are prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) by a specialist anti-doping laboratory, LGC who are based in the UK.
  • Athletes who want to maintain their joint flexibility and function and reduce pain in joints that are susceptible to stiffness, loss of function and joint pain.
  • Athletes who have suffered a debilitating injury that is known to accelerate the onset of arthritic conditions such as OA, for example a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
  • Any athletes who are looking to reduce their intake of drug-based pain killers in the management of their joint pain before, during and after exercise.
  • Athletes for whom other treatment options (NSAIDs, COX-II inhibitors and paracetamol) should be avoided or used as little as possible, either because of their other medical conditions, their age or their concomitant medications. This includes athletes with cardio-vascular or gastro-intestinal risk factors and problems.
  • Athletes who are not receiving adequate symptomatic relief from their current treatment and want to add another option.
  • Cautions: Athletes with known sensitivity to any of the ingredients listed on the box should not use FLEXISEQ® Sport. Pregnant women should consult their doctor.
